Announcing
the much anticipated debut release of Urban Horse Thieves
on I-Town Records. Recorded at Rep Studios in Ithaca, NY, this
CD represents the accumulative efforts of the band’s close
to three years of performing, writing, and recording music together.
Produced by Nate Silas Richardson of John Brown’s Body,
Won’t Be Long captures the essence of the Horse Thieves
ability to blend genres of American music and cover the full
spectrum of emotion along the way. Songs of defiance, joy, and
love’s refusal to rest easy all flow effortlessly into
one another, effectively providing what could be the soundtrack
to the stream of conversation that takes place in any bar in
America. Rock-n-roll with a hillbilly twist sums it up, yet a
simple summary such as that fails to give credence to the many
subtle variations of banjo, fiddle, harmonica, and piano that
surface all over this disc. This is a recording that features
undeniably strong songwriting, dynamic musicianship, and a variety
of moods and messages that keep the listener curious and engaged.
